Raymond Bryan Griffin

He was the son of the late Sparrow and Mildred Griffin and was preceded in death by a sister, Gerry Mowery, and a grandson, Eric Cavitt.

Raymond retired from the National Guard as a Master Sergeant and also the Chattanooga Fire Department as Captain.

He was a member of the East Lake Masonic Lodge and Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nina Griffin, of Harrison, TN, three children, Beverly (Kenneth) Windom, of Valley Head, AL, Kimberly Rae Hurt, Nathan Bryan Griffin, both of Harrison, TN, five grandchildren, Richard Cavitt, Stephen Cavitt, Anthony Windom, Stacey Windom, Christopher Logan Hurt, sister Myra Davidson, of Charlotte, NC, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, February 28, 2014, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. James Langston officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military rites being conducted.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 5 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
