Peggy Darlene Moates

A native of Clarksville, TN, she has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 35 years and was a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church. She was retired from Erlanger Medical Center as an RN with over 20 years of service.

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Smith; sister, Elaine Horsley and brother, Ralph Smith; grandson, Payton Graham.

Peggy is survived by her husband, David Philip Moates; six children, Jason (Kim) McVay, Jeanna (Ben) Quist, Katie (Chris) Knecht, Derek (Tiffany) McVay, Megan (Rusty) Russell, and Mandy Davis. Peggy was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

All covid mandates will be in place at the funeral home, such as wearing a face covering and social distancing.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Tony Walliser officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of service on Tuesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
