We the Alphonsus Nkire family and CBMC West Africa just received the news about the going home of a great man of God, Nick Kennedy Sr., and we thank God greatly for the life of His servant. We are Nick Kennedy Sr., children in Africa and we cannot easily forget the investment God used Nick Kennedy Sr., to invest into our lives and ministries. Mummy Wanda, please, we join you at this time for we know you are going to miss a God fearing and loving husband. We, in Africa cannot not forget your family in life. GOD BLESS YOU. I smile when I think of Nick and Wanda. My first memories of Nick include him always having gum for us kids at Eastwood Baptist. He and Wanda also opened their home to us youth and led in many bible studies and were great examples of a Christian family. Nick later gave me a job one summer at his printing company in Ooltewah. What a sweet man. My prayers will be with his family during this time.

I shall always remember Nick Kennedy.  My first memory is when he and Wanda welcomed me with open arms into membership of Ooltewah Baptist Church (OBC) over 25 years ago.  He gave me a warm handshake and a business card with his name address and phone number.  His card stated his business to be a Christian and member of OBC.  IT INVITED ME TO CALL HIM ANYTIME.  I shall always remember this special welcome.

Nick and I met regularly to discuss the scriptures. He loved the LORD and His word very much.  I shall always remember and cherish these special times together.  I never felt so free to discuss my thoughts with absolutelly no fear of being judged or criticized no matter what I said.  
If I had anything of concern that I needed prayer support for Nick was the man I could share these with.  Nick loved me and I knew it.
Paul said that to be absent from the body was to be present with the LORD.  He also said for me to live is Christ and to die is gain.  The Bible says that precious to God is the death of His saints.
All the heavenly host has welcomed Nick with a warm welcome.  
Nick is more alive today than ever.  He will be misses for he is a great man.  
Nick loved Wanda and his family.  He talked of them oftem.

Some of my earliest fondest memories of Uncle Nick involve visiting he and Wanda, Papa Guice, Nicky and Pam, at their home. As a kid desperately desiring to become an artist (when I grew up) I was always excited to see the new artwork he was creating and have the chance to pester him with questions, which he was only too happy to answer. You always had a laugh and ready smile, and that is how I still see you in my mind. I won't be able to be there today to pay my respects, but am quite comfortable in the knowledge that one day I will see you again, still smiling. Rest in Peace, Uncle Nick. You will be missed but never forgotten.

My memories of Nick started as looking at him as my hero in his military uniform. Nick went into the service the year I was born and I was 3 years old when he was discharged. I and my brother and sister, lived with his mother Cartha Davis Kennedy because my mother worked at the factory near her house. My Granny taught me many things, we grew up with very little, but we worked hard and each of us had our assigned chores. Nick and I shared so many of the same memories growing up in that house at 213 Gilbert Street. It was these memories that brought us closer together, as we would talk for hours about so many things that had happened over our lives. The most important being we both had a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ, and for that I know was Granny's prayer for each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as I would listen to her pray. I can testify the prayers of a righteous mother accomplish much. Praising the Lord for the life of Uncle Nick.

Uncle Nick , the last time I saw you was at Oz"s funeral I didn't know in only 6 short months you would go home too So thankful you both are in a wonderful place But we sure do miss you both !! <3 Patsy
