Thinking Of Morris & Nikki this Christmas Season.

We have never met. But I just want you to know how much Morris impacted my life in a very positive way.  Many years ago, I was attending Tennessee Temple University.  While doing so, and because of a friend who had entered the EMT program back in Thomasville, GA, I decided to become an EMT also.  Who would have thought, that 33 years later, at the age of 56, I still would be actively doing so.

Your husband was my instructor (as well as, he was friend of my Dad, Jim Souders).  I didn't, until today, know of your husband's passing.  I talked with him on the phone back at the begining of the year and it was a joy to 'reconnect'.

I can't begin to explain to you how much your husband impacted my life and gave me an excitement for EMS for the last 33 years.  I am currently a Critical Care Paramedic in Georgia, a Lt. and FTO for our department in Colquitt County (Moultrie), have served for over 25 years in Valdosta at SGMC-MCHS EMS, as well as in previous years in Thomasville and Bainbridge.  I hold Instrutorships in Advanced Medical Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support; I am also Training Center Faculty Memeber of The American Heart Association and Lead Instructor at Southwest Georgia Technical College, and have started a company, Response Source Training Institute (responsesourcetraining.com) which instructs people in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider & Heartsaver), First Aid, Emergency Medical Responder, and Safe Sitter.

Since that time, besides being now a husband of 32 years, a father of five children and two grandchildren, as well as a pastor of a small church, God has used me in the Emergency Medical Field, because of your husband's caring, knowledge and love for patient care to lay a foundation that would impact my entire life.  By his passing that on to me, it has allowed me to be able to literally touch, help, and save thousands of lives over the years to His glory, and your husband's honor, as an extension of himself.

Please accept my prayers at the loss of your husband.  My heart is saddened at his loss.  He will be greatly missed.

I was thumbing through Saturday's Times-Free Press when i saw Morris' obituary. I haven't seen him in years, but Morris taught some extrication classes in the EMS Department at Northeast Alabama Community College many years ago. He was a tremendous instructor who made an impact on so many. My prayers go out to his family.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  Morris was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed, especially his sense of humor.  We always enjoyed his visits when he came to Gate City while he was State Training Officer.  The TARS convention will never be the same without him.

So sorry to hear of Morris' passing. Though I did not persue a career in the field, the knowledge I gained in his classes have been put to use over and over in my life. God bless and comfort his family.

We are sorry to hear of Morris' death.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Morris was a great man and will be missed by many.

Morris was the Grandfather of rescue training.  He was responsible for developing rescue techniques, and sharing his knowledge by training others. Everyone who knew him was inspired, and many owe their lives to his contribution to the rescue service. He has received his promotion and serving a higher power. Thanks Morris.

Morris was a mentor, an instructor, and most of all a friend.  His memory will live on in the lessons he taught me in EMT and rescue classes.  He was always thinking about then pt, and not himself.  Everything he did was for the good of the patients, and his students. 

We will miss him, and the fun we had at the haunted houses we work with him on.

Dear Nicki, I was so sorry to hear of Morris' passing.  I know that he will be truly missed by family and friends.  As God now holds Morris in His arms so shall you hold him in your heart.  Please accept my condolences and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Instructor 1980-1981. He was a wonderful instructor, I learned more from his stories than probably anything else. Morris wanted to save lives and he wanted the people he taught to be as prepared as possible also by protecting themselves. He would say if you are down you cannot help anybody else! Morris was a good man who I respected very much and looked up to. He made an impression on my life I will never forget. My husband is Cornbread
