Mary Sue Estes Burke, of Ooltewah, went to rest on January 30, 2022. Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and friend is resting peacefully awaiting our dear Lord’s return. Mary was born in Huntington, West Virginia and was predeceased by her husband, Marcus Eugene Burke, and her brother, James Norman Estes. She and her family were longtime residents of Collegedale, TN. She was beloved by the students at A.W. Spalding where she enjoyed working as Librarian for approx. 30 years. She was a member of the Ladd Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mary loved children of all ages, music, crafts (especially those she could share with others), bringing smiles to those around her with her wit and sparkling personality and she loved our dear Lord and often spoke of her anticipation of heaven.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cherie Stuckey (Ed Stuckey), and Lisa Jennings; two granddaughters, Christi Jennings Blankenship (Gary Blankenship), and Mary Anne Jennings; great-grand-daughter, Juliette Blankenship.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her honor to ADRA, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Chattanooga First Seventh-day Adventist Church.
