Martha Marie Prince, age 73, of East Ridge, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her home. She was born July 19, 1941 in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late William Marvin Prince, and Aileen L. Cannon Prince.
Martha was a member of Ringgold Tabernacle and had played piano in various churches for 50 years. She was a retired Registered Nurse from the Chattanooga City Schools after more than 30 years of service.
She was in the first graduating class of Cleveland State Community College in 1969.
Survivors include her children, LeAngela (Raymond) Boyd of Rainsville, Alabama; Jonathan Prince and Jasmine Mansel both of East Ridge; sister, Beverly (Larry) Mansel of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Aerial Mansel of East Ridge; Cory Mansel of Chattanooga; and great-grandchild, Jerrial Mansel of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 8, 2014 from 12-1 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dean Skipper officiating. Burial will follow at Lomenick Cemetery and Mausoleum.
A fitting tribute to her life is the following poem: “What Cancer Cannot Do. Cancer is so limited . . . It cannot cripple Love. It cannot shatter Hope. It cannot corrode Faith. It cannot destroy Peace. It cannot kill Friendship. It cannot suppress Memories. It cannot silence Courage. It cannot invade the Soul. It cannot steal Eternal Life.
