She was a lifelong resident of Ooltewah and a member of Freedom Church of God. Martha worked for the Hamilton County School System at the old Snow Hill Elementary School, where she loved baking and cooking in the cafeteria for all “her kids.”
She had a love for flowers and gardening and enjoyed spending her time outdoors. Martha loved being with her family, they were her pride and joy. Martha’s compassion and kindness extended to all she came into contact with. She was not only a prayer warrior for her family but for anyone in need, never hesitating to share her faith as well.
Martha’s absence here will be greatly felt by all that loved and knew her. We are comforted to know she is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have the assurance we will one day be with her again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Effie Stevens Harden; husband, Tommy Evans Morgan; granddaughter, Madison Anna Jane Crites and a grandson, Corey Thomas Williamson.
Survivors include her children, Sonya (Sam) Crites, Tammie (Kurt) Pickett, Tommie (Eric) Williamson and Darrell Morgan; sisters, Alice Lowe and Lennie (Jimmy) Bettis; brother; Landon (Lois) Harden; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, December 23, 2021, in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Dwight Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Old McDonald Cemetery.
