He was born on June 9, 1952, in Ogdensburg, to Harold and Beverly Mitchell, who died when Mark was just a young man. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Mitchell; and his sister, Mallory Mitchell.
Mitch worked as pipefitter for B & S Industrial for many years and a proud member of the local pipefitter’s union. His happy place was boating on the St. Lawrence River and floating down the river at every chance. Mark dabbled at golf, loved to travel and was especially happy wintering in Florida with Peggy and his friends. Mitch was a Blue Devil through and through. He never met a stranger and went out of his way to make everyone comfortable, from prospective friends to lifelong pals. He will be greatly missed by his wide network of friends from every walk of life. His best stories always started with “me, Slip and Delarge.”
Mitch cherished his family that includes his children, Alan (Deirdre) Mitchell, and Danielle Mitchell; his partner, Peggy Judware; his grandchildren, Jacob Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, and Saoirse Mitchell; and his extended family.
A Celebration of Life and time to visit with family and friends will begin at 1PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Elks Lodge in Ogdensburg, NY.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantageFranklin-Strickland.com for the Mitchell family.
