Margaret Fullam Ryon

Margaret Fullam Ryon, age 87 , a longtime resident of Chattanooga died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. She was born on June 11, 1925 to the late Francis and Annie Fullam. She lived most of her life in Chattanooga and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her family when she was a senior in high school and graduated from Withrow High School. She attended the University of Cincinnati. After she married and returned to Chattanooga, she worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Charles B. Felts, Sr. Margaret retired from Walter E. Boehm Birth Defect Center in 1988 where she worked side by side with Dr. Boehm, Sr. as he established the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defect Center. Margaret was a member of Concord Baptist Church for over 60 years. During her years of active church membership she was a soloist and a member of the Ladies Trio and served on various committees. She served on the following Board of Directors: Contact of Chattanooga and the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defect Center. She loved her family and home and she enjoyed playing the piano, singing and working in her flower gardens.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond (Stubby) Fullam and Francis L. (Sonny) Fullam.

Survived by loving husband of 68 years, Edward Lindsay Ryon, Sr. of Chattanooga; daughter, Janice Ryon Lane (Bill) of Chattanooga ; son, Edward Lindsay Ryon, Jr. (Kaye) of Cookeville,Tennessee; two sisters, Carolyn Fullam Trotta of Cincinnati, OH and Barbara Fullam Rechel (Don) of Cincinnait. OH ; sister-in-laws, Delma Fullam of Cincinnati, OH and Barbara Fullam of Cincinnati, OH ; four grandchildren, Geoffrey Ryon Lane (Abbi), Rebecca Lane Swingle (Vince), Melody Ryon Gentry (Paul) and Janna Leigh Ryon; three great grandchildren; cousin Ron Fullam and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11 AM at the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. David King and Rev. Bob Segrest officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Active Pallberarers will be Jim Rechel, David Rechel, Tom Rechel, Michael Trotta, Brian Trotta, and Ryon Lane. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Peter Boehm and Doctors with whom she served with over the years. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
