Mr. Hobbs was born in Dunlap, TN and raised on Signal Mountain, TN. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1950 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Electric Power Board as a Customer Service Supervisor. LeRoy was a music director for over 70 years at several churches in the area. He was also a 32nd degree Mason of Signal Mountain Masonic Lodge and a member of Trion Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his sons, Tim (Sandy) Hobbs and Philip (Brenda) Hobbs; grandchildren, Lauren (Zack) Rollins, Jon (Jessica) Hobbs, Tyler (Kasey) Hobbs and Jarrod (Robin) Hobbs; sisters, Libby Hobbs, Sherry Motley and Trisha (Sam) Bollinger; special friend and companion, Marcie Bates.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Hobbs; mother, Claytie Motley; and sister, Polly Sullivan.
There will not be any visitation at the funeral home, however a Graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Dr. William Flannagan will officiate.
