Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him loved and admired his kindness, his devotion to his wife, his faith, his fortitude in the face of so many health problems for so many years. His cheerful personality and quick wit was appreciated by all who knew him. He was an entrepreneur, owning numerous window companies as well as two radio stations in Savannah, GA. He was also a “Dreamer” and unlike most, fulfilled most of his dreams. He held a private pilot’s license as well as a U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license. He and his wife spent five years living aboard their sailboats and traveling throughout the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the U.S. East Coast.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judie, step-son, Chris Matthews (Amy), daughter, Cathy Gay (Gerald), of FL., son, Allen Morton, of Savannah, GA., granddaughters, Hannah and Bethany Matthews, grandsons, Gerr Gay, Corey Gay, A. J. Morton, nephews, Mark Randle and Kent Randle, and best friend like a brother, Bob Humble.
