He was born November 20, 1983 in Carol Stream, Illinois.
Kevin was a 2002 graduate of Ooltewah High School where he played varsity baseball all four years. Following high school he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2006. Kevin was president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Kevin’s ability to communicate and build relationships with others helped him excel in his career. He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.
Kevin enjoyed the game of golf. He loved all sports, passing along this passion to his son, Reed. Hearing his daughter, Kinley, sing brought him great joy. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
His grandfather Daniel O’Brien preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of eleven years, Rachel Trussell Schultz; children, Reed (age 8), Kinley (3) of Ooltewah; parents, Mike & Kathy Schultz of Ooltewah; grandparents, Ed & Loretta Schultz of Payullup, WA; grandmother, Judy Meier of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Megan (Rodney) Proffitt of Ooltewah, and Krissy (Matt) Murray of Chattanooga; mother & father-in-law, Mike and Sharon Trussell of McDonald; brother-in-law, Jeremy (Megan) Trussell of Chattanooga; two nieces, Addison Trussell and Charley Murray; and two nephews, Kayden Trussell and Ethan Proffitt; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kevin’s contagious smile and spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Silverdale Baptist Church, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Pastor Tony Walliser will officiate.

A private graveside service will follow for the family at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
