She was born September 8, 1955 in Chattanooga to the late Charles & Imogene Kornas.
She was a woman of very strong faith and her greatest passion was her marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Larry. Kathy was a wonderful, devoted, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Kathy loved animals and founded a successful business with her friend Jan Womack. Kathy was happiest in her garden, traveling with her husband, or surrounded by her family and pets.
Her sister Shirley “Stakely” Siebert (brother-in-law, Jim Stakely), sister-in-law, Lynn Sims, and mother-and-father-in-law, Mary Lee & Hobert Bernard Sims preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry Sims; children, Jason (Kristen) Sims and Justin (Jenn) Sims; sister, Debbie (Doug) Goode; brother Mike (Melody) Kornas; grandchildren, Harper Kate, Jack, Lena, Emma Lynn, Bryce and Jace; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2024 from 3-6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Patrick officiating.
