Katherine Liner

Katherine Montgomery Liner, 86, of Ooltewah passed away of natural causes on September 9, 2014 at Soddy Daisy Healthcare. She was born on June 1, 1928 in Rossville, GA. Always eager to learn, Katherine graduated from Rossville High School as Valedictorian of her class and continued her education as a top student in finance classes at Vanderbilt University.

After 40 years in the banking industry, Katherine retired as an officer of SunTrust Bank in Collegedale where she was known as “my personal banker” to her customers. Katherine enjoyed her time traveling, reading, and being an active member on the Finance committee at Ooltewah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Montgomery; mother Leola Coulter; step-father Sidney Coulter; husband Robert Corbin Liner; and son Robert Michael Liner.

She is survived by two daughters; Diane Liner Eaves (Larry) of Hopkinsville, KY; Judy Liner McNamara (Fred) of Soddy Daisy, TN; four grandchildren; Fred McNamara, Jr. (Kandy) of Soddy Daisy, TN; Brent McNamara (Kim) of Soddy Daisy, TN; Jeff Eaves of Hopkinsville, KY; Jennifer Eaves of Charleston, SC; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, September 13, 2014, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home performed by her friend and beloved pastor Larry Williams. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home.
