Juanita Zimmerman Pierce, 89, of Chattanooga, TN, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 24, 2012, after a long illness. She was born on January 14, 1923, in Chattanooga where she lived her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Lola Zimmerman, and her brothers, William R. and Wallace D. Zimmerman. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James C. Pierce; daughter, Sandra C. Pierce; son, J. Bradley (Mari Kay) Pierce; granddaughters, Lindsey M. Pierce and Sidney N. Pierce; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. Interment will be in Tyner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church World Missions, 554 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37402. The family gives special thanks to Hospice and caregivers Ruby Byrd and Karan Ramsey.
