He was born September 3, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert & Toni Zaper Carter.
Jon received a Computer Science degree from the University of Toledo. He was employed with Unum Corporation.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he served in the AWANA program for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pam Patrick Carter; children, Alex (MacKenzie) Carter of Hixson, TN, Scott Carter and Rachel Carter of Chattanooga, TN; and one grandson, Logan Carter of Hixson, TN.
A memorial service will be held June 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Ben Graham and Pastor Kelly O’Rear officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
