He was born in Chattanooga, April 27, 1975.
John graduated from Hillsboro High School, Nashville, and attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida. He loved to fly and planned to pursue a career in aeronautics. However, he also had a talent and love for technology and opportunities opened for him in the Lighting Industry. He had a twenty-year career as a Lighting Designer, Director and Programmer. He toured with many well-known artists and entertainers throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, South America, New Zealand and Australia. One of his most enjoyable venues was directing the lighting for the halftime show at the Orange Bowl in 2014.
John was preceded in death by his father, Morris Randall Clark; grandparents, William L. and Lennie Millsaps Carden, Barney L. and Lurah Clinton Clark; and uncle, Harry K. Hays.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Carden Clark; aunts and uncles, Loyce Carden (Harold) Key, Joanne Carden (Donald) Lee of Cleveland; his cousins, Mary Hays (William) Runyon of Knoxville, Timothy (Tina) Lee, Dr. Mark (Sheila) Lee; and second cousins, Greta, Emmie and Oliver Runyon, Kayla, Lauren and Ryan Lee, and Katelyn and Andrew Lee.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 in the parlor of First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402. Following visitation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the McEwen Chapel with Rev. William Runyon and Dr. Thomas Quisenberry presiding. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the School of Fine Arts of First Baptist Church, or to the Chattanooga Humane Society.
