He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Y. Leming; his mom and dad, Lucille and Randall Leming; sister, Brenda Carden and nephew, Christopher Land.
He is survived by two daughters, Melodie Jones, Ooltewah and Melissa Bowman, Chattanooga; a son he never had, Joshua (Sara) Leming; adoptive son, Kenny Perez; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and James Leming; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that all called him Papaw.
He had lifelong friends that he loved spending time with, David Long, Dale Swanson and Jeff Price.
He loved his job with the Hamilton County Highway Department in which he retired last year.
He fought an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He won his battle and gained his wings and was reunited with the Love of his life.
The family wants to express a sincere thank you to Lora, his nurse with Hospice of Chattanooga. Thank you for all the care and love you showed our dad.
Also a special thank you to Angie Brock and Lisa Johnson, for all the help through these last few weeks. He loved y’all like his own.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel with Kara Reno officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood memory Gardens, East.
All covid mandates will be in place at the funeral home and the cemetery, such as wearing a mask and social distancing.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9-11 am on Tuesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
