Jerry was a lifelong resident of Rhea County where he worked and retired from Suburban after 42 years. He loved working in the yard, loving on his dog, Storme, and fishing with his brothers and his devoted wife of 52 years, Beverly, that he now leaves behind. He also loved playing gospel music on his bass with his family at The Grove (known more to him as Walnut Grove Church), where his family was raised.
Besides his loving wife, Jerry also leaves behind 2 sisters—Faye Craighead of Spring City and Evelyn (Larry) Ballard of Dayton, as well as 2 brothers—Ronnie (Donna) Suttles and Pastor Eddie (Diane) Suttles, also of Dayton. Jerry also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews including Christopher (Sandra) Knight of Indiana, Kim (Jim) Corvin, Christie (Aaron) Johnson, Anthony (Miranda) Lancaster, Jason (Brandilyn) Lancaster, Tiffany (Ryan) Bishop, Stephanie (Brad) Wilkey, April (Twon) Cowley, Josh (Caitie) Suttles, and Brandi (Chad) Suttles, all of Dayton, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Buttram Cemetery on Tuesday, November 28 at 2:00 with Pastor Eddie Suttles officiating.
