She was born on November 4, 1925, in Regensburg, Germany to the late Georg and Anna Wiesner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Wiesner.
She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church for over 50 years.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Cornwell “Bill”, five children, William P. Cornwell “Bill” and wife, Elaine, Linda G. VanHorn, all of Chattanooga, TN., Gerald W. Cornwell “Jerry” and wife, Teresa, of Ooltewah, TN., Robert A. Cornwell “Bob” and wife, Mary, of Lawrenceville, GA., Michael G. Cornwell “Mike” and wife Janie, of Harrison, TN., four grandchildren, Madison A. Cornwell, Madison E. Cornwell, Eric H. Cornwell, William J. Cornwell “Will”, three sisters, Anna Pilz, Maria Gruber, Waltraud Ponkratz, all of Regensburg, Germany, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father P. J. McGinnity officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 5 -7 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2011, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
