Helen True Mowery

She was a faithful and loving wife to Bob Mowery for 67 years and a living example of Christ’s love to four sons, Mike, Steve, Mark and Kevin, and to her 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her life was filled with concern for others. The past 12 years she has been bedfast from a stroke, but her smile seldom left her face.

She would like to thank her caregivers, Billie Sue Thompson, Jeanne Gregory, Angie McCellem and Danialle Holland for their special care.

Helen was preceded in death by parents, Venice and George True and a dear daughter- in- law, Karen Usmiller Mowery.

She is survived by her other caregiver, Bob, who is thankful to God for their 67 years together, four sons, Mike, Steve, Mark, Kevin and their wives, all of her grand and great-grandchildren, brother, Robert True and his wife, Faye, her special friends, Mary Moore Spencer, Anita Maxwell, Shirley Rockholt and the members of the Thursday Bible Study at Mary Moore’s house and a special friend, Katie Passmore Van Gundy of El Paso, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the funeral home with Fred Bennett and Jeremy Colloms officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
