Harold was born and raised in Hayesville, North Carolina. He retired from TVA as a Purchasing Agent. Harold was a combat wounded WWII Army Veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also awarded the Purple Heart Medal and a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Harold enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, working outside in the yard and a good cup of hot coffee.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Helen Sanders; daughter, Sharon Tarvin; granddaughter, Ashley Tarvin and husband, Joel Cilio; great-grandson, Finnegan; and sisters, Ruth Nicholson and Linda Penland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Trula Sanders; and sister, Faye Utsman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
