Gary Douglas Bonine

Gary was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 12, 1952. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years.

He was a member and Deacon at Silverdale Baptist Church. Gary taught the 4th and 5th grade and later the 9th and 10th grade boys, at the church, and was loved dearly by them.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Cora Plemmons Bonine, parents, David and Oma Lee Bonine and grandson, Hayden Bonine.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Howard Bonine, of Harrison, TN, three sons, Christopher (Andrea Larsen) Wiren, of Chattanooga, TN, Brenton D. Bonine, of Rome, GA, Jason D. Bonine, of Mobile, AL, nine grandchildren, Alex Bonine, Brenton Bonine, II, Michael Wiren, Mekael Wiren, Seth Wiren, Raven Wiren, Hannah M. Bonine, Kalli D. Bonine, Addisyn Bonine, two brothers, Rick (Pam) Bonine, David Bonine, Jr., both of Chattanooga, TN, two sisters, Judy (Ed) Adkins, of Lookout Mtn., GA., Nancy (Brad) Jones, of McDonald, TN., uncle, Ben (Laverne) Bonine, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Silverdale Baptist Church, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421, with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military rites being conducted.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the church.
