Eric C. Peterson, 47, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, following complications from a brain aneurysm suffered on July 11 of this year. Eric was born on December 23, 1968, in Peoria, Illinois.
He was a friend to many who appreciated his audio visual/electronics wizardry. Eric had a great sense of humor while also displaying a very kind and caring nature. He was also a founding member and former President of the Tennessee Smoke Free Association. Eric was creative and artistically talented. As a sophomore at Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, TX, he won Best of Show & Superior in Mechanical Drawing in statewide competition.
Eric graduated from San Angelo, TX Central High School and attended UTC. His church membership was at The Heights Baptist Church of San Angelo.
Mourning his loss are his parents, Ron and Elaine Peterson; sister, Lainie (Patrick) Whitman and their children, Nicholas and Mary Whitman; brother, Steve (Dina) Bryce and their children, Jake and Tyler Bryce of Joliet, IL, and a sister and her family in Pennsylvania. Other family members include his aunt, Susan (Murray) Barrow and their children, Patrick Lunceford and Denton (Mary) Lunceford and family of Birmingham, AL; aunt, Nancy (Frank) Prekel of Denver, CO, and their children, Matt Prekel also of Denver and Mike Prekel of Fargo, ND. His buddy, Luigi, will also miss Eric.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arnold D. Blevins, Jr., Vivian and Elbert Cash, Harlan Peterson and Harriet and Bill Davies.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Antioch Cemetery (2709 Old Alabama Road SW, Cleveland, TN 37353) with Dr. John Barber officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Erlanger Foundation and designated for the SE Regional Stroke Center, 975 E. Third Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the attention and care given to Eric by the Erlanger Neuro Intensive Care and Standifer Place staffs during his stays.
