He was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on June 10, 1943, to the late Edward C. and Ethel H. Scudder and was the older brother to Thomas and Timothy Scudder.
He served as a Lieutenant in the U S Navy as an aviator and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ed received his bachelor’s degree from Rider University and a master’s degree from Georgia Professional School of Psychology. He was a former employee with Macintosh Trail Community Service Board and worked many years in banking before later retiring as a therapist.
He was a member of Ooltewah United Methodist Church. He was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Griffin, GA. before moving to Tennessee.
He is survived by his two sons, John and his wife Rebecca and grandchild Madison, of Mandeville, LA., Jason and his wife Dawn of McDonald, TN and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
