He was a retired school teacher having taught 32 years in Berkeley County, WV and also coached little league baseball most of his life. He was a huge Yankees baseball fan, but the biggest thing in life to him, was the love he had for his family. He was a member of the Redemption Point Church of God in Ooltewah.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Frances Troupe and a sister, Margaret Anne Judd.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah MacDonald; two sons, Chad (Jennifer) MacDonald and Eric (Pamela) MacDonald; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Richard “Dick” MacDonald and two sisters, Susan Ring and Nancy Golladay; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Redemption Point Church of God with Rev. Chad MacDonald and the Rev. Travis Ballinger officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 E. Brainerd Road.
