He was a native of Chattanooga and was preceded in death by his father, Don Hill Kerr, mother, June Jeanette Killian and his brother, David Brock.
Donnie attended Tyner High School and was a veteran of the U S Army. He worked in and around Chattanooga for many years as a painter. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his son, Donald “Donnie” Kerr, of Ooltewah, TN, three siblings, Darrel Chandler, of East Ridge, TN, Denise Dyer, of Ringgold, GA, Daniel Brock, of Chattanooga, TN, niece, Crystal Franks, and nephew, James Lee Dyer, IV.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery.
