He was the son of the late Walter and Amanda Green and was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Green, five brothers, Clark, Lloyd, John, Harry and William Green and a sister, Mary Frances Green.
David was a retired iron worker with the Local #704. He also owned and managed the Kreme House Restaurant in Ooltewah for over 30 years.
He was a member of City Church in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his four children, Carolyn Burton, of Nashville, TN, Mark (Chantal) Green, of Nashville, TN, Maria (Nick) Rogers, of Griffith Creek, TN, Marlene (Ponder) Geren, of Ooltewah, TN, seven grandchildren, Chad (Ramona) Burton, Alexandra Green, Chloe Green, Shelby (Gray) Johnston, Nick Rogers, Jr., David (Devin) Geren, Daniel (fiancé, Alie McFall) Geren, three great granddaughters, Ruby Ritter, Axie Ritter, Addison Johnston, two brothers, Dewey (Sheri) Green, of Cutler, IN, Jerome (Reta) Green, of Griffith Creek, TN, sister-in-law, Rose Green, Griffith Creek, TN, two brothers-in-law, Carl Walker, of Ooltewah, TN, Ross (Chris) Walker, of Harrison, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Chapman officiating, Bill Hullander offering the eulogy and Ernie Reno providing the music. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the funeral home.
