My heart filled with sadness as I learned of Christine’s passing. Christine was such an amazing person and so filled with love and kindness for everyone she met. I had the pleasure of getting to know  Christine many years ago as she was completing her teaching degree. She needed to complete a practicum for one of her classes and asked to spend some of this time with me at Smith Elementary. I remember how much she helped me to prepare for our annual sock hop. She helped me decorate the cafeteria and make over 700 bags of cotton candy to give to students that week. She made all the work that week so much fun and refused to leave me until everything was finished.  A few weeks later as she finished her course she created the most wonderful and kind memory book about the practicum and presented it to me. It was so kind of her to take the time to create it for me and I still cherish it today. 

 Taylor and Alex, You are in my heart today as I pray that the horrible pain of loss will soon be replaced only by the beautiful moments and memories you made with your mother.    
Although I had not spoken to your mom in quite some time she made a lasting memory on me of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.

I will always remember her beautiful warm smile and amazing creative talent.  She could brighten any space and had  a gift for bringing life to any room with her style and decorations.

How often can you walk through a school building and see a teacher turning actual cartwheels down the hall?  That is the way Christine and I met for the first time in 2006.  She came out of her new classroom to see me flipping in the halls.  From that moment on, a real friendship developed into so much more began. 

Over the years we shared so many unforgettable memories.  We had, Before the School Year lunch, Fall Break brunch, Trick or Treating on every Halloween, Christmas Break lunch, New Year- back to school lunch, and of course Summer Break lunches.  It was even more amazing when Wyatt came into this world.  He would be her plus one.  She was so happy to share him with all of us.  

Christine had a way of making EVERYONE feel like they were the most special person on earth.  She always made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated. The fact that she had so many friends and we all feel like she was our best friend lets you know that she knew how to share her love.  

Christine was truly a real angel on earth.  She was selfless, giving, fair and one of the best to ever do everything.  I am so grateful for my 14 years with her.  I am so grateful for what I have learned from her.   

Christine was good at so much, but she was most proud of being Taylor and Alex’s mommy.   

I am so thankful to know her.  I will love her forever.  


"Be the Change That You Want  to See in the World"   Christine  was the true embodiment of  this saying........  She was the  most loyal of friend, never met a stranger,  was a beloved teacher,  loving wife, and  fiercely adored her daughters and grandson ......

Christine endured tremendous pain,  suffering,  embarrassment,  so she could spend just one more minute with her precious family....  Just as her hair would grow back,  she would have another scan and more cancer, and have to go through the whole chemotherapy process again......  I remember her only concern was that the other cancer patients needed hats......

Her students called her "Mom".  She taught third grade at Barger Academy and met each student with a hug every day.  These were the students she connected with the most;  a little boy who would not sit still, a child that ran away from school,  or the child who's mother was in jail.....

Christine was so proud of completing her English as a Second Language certification and was even offered a job.....  Just as she received the offer, her cancer reoccurred again....

Friendship was truly cherished  by Christine.... This is a lesson I learned from her......... Every two weeks, we met at the Boathouse in Chattanooga for  a glass of wine, shared gossip,  and  a beautiful  view of the Tennessee River....... Christine helped me get through some tough times in Chattanooga..... She taught me to stand up for myself!!  

Christmas was Christine's favorite holiday!!  Her house and yard were like stepping into a Winter Wonderland of lights and decorations...  My fondest memories are our trips to Rock City to see the lights....

Her daughters and grandson were the reason she fought the Good Fight, to spend one more minute with them .... She loved her family with such a  fierce passion that will forever  be missed.....





I’ll always remember Christine as always having a smile on her face. My condolences to her family and friends.

Christine and I began our friendship 9 1/2 years ago when we were both force on a journey neither one of us ever expected. All of a sudden we were both widowed when we lost our husbands just months apart from a sudden heart attack. To me, Christine was a life line. We mourned together, healed together, and we formed a friendship bond that comes along only once in a life time. I will miss our long talks, I will miss her laughter, her love for her family and all her friends. She was a one of a kind person, who never met a stranger and whose heart was made of gold. She didn’t talk much about her faith in God  and I am sure she had lots of questions for God as she entered heaven, but the one thing she assured me is that I would see her again when I got there. I love you Christine, will miss you more than you could imagine, but will see you soon. Darlene

Christine has been my friend for 24 years. There are no words to describe how much I will miss her and her infectious laugh and smile. I will cherish all the memories of our pool days, kids events, lunches, shopping, Aldi runs, walking and our talks, just to name a few.  Christine was the most hospitable person I have ever met. She didn't meet a stranger. She treated everyone like a family. I know God is getting an ear full. Lol! Rest In Peace my friend. I love you ❤️
