Charlotte Hodge Bowden went home to be with her Lord on October 20, 2010. She was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on October 24, 1926. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Chattanooga for 47 years, where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher and in other areas of the church. She had worked at Interstate Life, in a law office, and retired from TVA where she was the first woman employed in the Nuclear Operations Division in Chattanooga.
Charlotte is in heaven with her parents, Rev. Paul Ransom Hodge and Carrie Lee Allison Hodge Gfroerer; sister Mary Helen Hodge Neale and brother-in-law Jack Laws Neale; sister-in-law Shirley Norris Hodge; niece Loretta Neale Kaiser.
She is survived by her daughter Paula Bowden Wilson; son Robert Whitney Bowden and daughter-in-law Danna Wood Bowden; grandchildren Sam and Betsy Bowden, Matthew and Adam Wilson; granddaughter-in-law Shannon Wilson; great- grandson Micah; brother Lyman Hodge; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a short visitation after church on Sunday morning in the Atrium of Concord Baptist Church. Private graveside services will be held Monday 9:30 A.M. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will meet for a Celebration of Life service on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. David King officiating.
