Charles Ray Albritton, 81, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away Saturday – March 27, 2010, at a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Daniel and Etta Lee Albritton and was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jo Albritton and sister, Hazel Knight.
He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Charles was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served on the USS Estes. He was a retired Long Distance Truck Driver having been employed for ET & WNC, Red Ball and McKee Baking for a total of 47 years.
Survivors include his two sons, Alan Albritton (Nancy), of Georgetown, TN., Tony Albritton, of Harrison, TN., daughter, Donna Lewis, of Savannah, GA., four grandchildren, Daniel Albritton, Brandon Lewis, Sarah Daffron, Angela Redding, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ruth Tittsworth, of McMinnville, TN., Virginia Stuart, of Soddy Daisy, TN., and devoted friend Betty Baxter, of Harrison, TN.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Steele officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., (EST) Tuesday in Air View Baptist Cemetery in Altamont, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
