Catherine S. Fuller, 88, born in July, 1933, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home on February 23, 2022. She was born in Chattanooga and spent most of her life there. Those who knew her loved her enthusiasm and joy for life and her kindness to all.
Catherine was an active member and volunteer at Graysville United Methodist Church and a volunteer to Chattanooga’s homeless community. She spent her life in service to others in activities such as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Den Mother, homeroom mother for her four children, and as a friend to those in need. She believed in making life better for others and she did, time and again. Her love of animals led her to owning a boarding and grooming kennel for dogs. For several years she owned, bred, and showed Doberman pinschers and was a lifetime member of the American Kennel Club (AKC). She had more energy than most and only within the past few months did she slow down, but not before she discovered a love of painting. However, her family was her great love, and she extended that love to the ladies in her “TOPS” group and her friends at Callaway Court. She loved entertaining, nature, gardening, picnics, and the University of Tennessee Girls Basketball Team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Grace Taylor Strother, her loving husband, James Harrison Fuller, and her two sons, James Harrison Fuller, Jr., and Thomas Edgar Fuller.
Left with the memories of her extraordinary life are her precious Daughters, Catherine Fuller Crawley (John) of Chattanooga, Janice Fuller Page (Phil) of Potomac, Maryland, and Dorothy Fuller Polash (Kevin Edwards) of Los Altos Hills, California. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Summer Crawley Cox (Jeff Thomison) of Chattanooga, Lauren Gail Polash of California, Elizabeth Berry Polash (Lane Berry, Jr.) of California, Lt. Jacqueline Page, US Army, Germany, 2nd Lt. Alex Page of Potomac, Maryland, Fiona and Jamie Fuller of Georgia, and Great-Grandchildren, Scarlett Grace Thomison of Chattanooga, and Harley Berry of California, Nephews Richard M. Breon, Jr., and Andrew R Breon, of Chattanooga, Nieces, Marcia B. Cavin (Gene) of Chattanooga, and Debra B. Van Voorst (Steve) of South Pittsburg, several Great-great Nieces and Nephews, and her special Cousins.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that honorariums/donations be made in Catherine’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148, or via www.st.jude.org/donate.
