She was born on March 13, 1951 to the late Carl Scoggins, Sr. and Mary Louise Scoggins Smith. Carla was a devoted wife, mother and Mimi. She was a life-long member of East Chattanooga/Redemption Point Church of God. Carla was employed as a secretary at TVA for 16 years. She then became a homemaker and caregiver to her in-laws and many grandchildren. Carla’s favorite pastimes included singing in her church choir, spending time with her family, visiting the beach, shopping, crafting, puzzles and sparkles.
Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Steven M. Wright; lovingly remembered by her children, Michael (Katie) Wright, Leighann (Virgil) Kimbrough and Melissa (Ronny) Barrows; her grandchildren, Ramsey (Alix) Kimbrough, Hannah Kimbrough (Patrick Wilson), Taylor (Riana) Lamunyon, Joshua Barrows (Hailie Hutchinson), Andrew (Mariah) Barrows, Jax, Annalesse, Ethan and Brett Wright; her siblings, Theresa Turner, Jackie (Tera) Scoggins, Lynette (Thomas) Mahoney and Vonda (Randy) McMinn; great grandchildren, Nolan Lamunyon, Liam and Lorelai Barrows along with many cousins, neices, nephews and all those who called her Mimi.
A Celebration of Life service for Carla will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Redemption Point Church of God, 3831 Ooltewah Ringgold Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363, with Rev. Travis Ballinger and Rev. Fred Smith, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Tyner Cemetery.
