Bruce Newman

He was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Roy Newman Sr. and Mary Beatrice Newman Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Betty Sue Watkins Newman, stepfather, Scott Hamilton and brother, Roy Newman Jr.

Bruce proudly served his country and received several medals, specifically the Meritorious Service Medal in the Air Force and TN Air National Guard. He retired as a Tech SGT in the Air National Guard after 27 years of service. Bruce was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed traveling and was always willing to help others.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his sister, Anne (Gene) Krishingner of Fletcher, NC; brother-in-laws, Bill (Margaret) Watkins of Apison, TN, Jim (Dianne) Watkins of Blairsville, GA; sister-in-law, Barbara Newman of Murrells Inlet, SC; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Jody and Joy Cantrell and his buddies at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 10, 2022, at Plowman Cemetery in Apison, Tennessee.
