I first met Neil in the 1970's when I went to work for National Life Insurance. He was my Staff Manager. He soon became a great friend as well as my Mgr. He taught me a lot about life and how to deal with the public as he trained me. I am truly fortunate to have had him in my life. 
For the last 10 years I have enjoyed playing golf with him and the rest of the guys at Woodland Park Church. Everyone who knew him knew he was selfless in helping any and everyone who was in need. We will all miss him dearly. 
Rest in Peace my friend. You will be long remembered.

Neil is one of the best men I have ever known. He and my Dad were best friends and  he was always in my life. I never knew a moment were Neil was not there. I was raised with his family and love them all dearly. He was like a second Dad to me, always there and just a call away. I fill a void in my life today. But, I was blessed with his wit, knowledge, and old school advice. Bobby Neil was a one of a kind and  I loved him. My condolences to Hennie and the family. We love you very much. 

I have played golf with Neil once a week for the past 10 or so years roomed with him on golfing trips, etc. He was so special and fun to be around. I was one to patiently listen to his corny jokes and old golfing exploits which I liked to remind often “ I’ve heard that one before “ to which he would laugh and continue on…he will be sorely missed by many, but we know whose listening now! …and laughing.

Oh, how  shocked & heart broken we are to see this today……Holding the entire family to our very heartbeat & bathing in prayer.  There are so many wonderful memories of this one of a kind man, &  what a privilege to have shared our daughters middle school & college, as  roommates together. … & their weddings. (Neil was an expert at putting their apt dining room table & chairs together!) But, perhaps his greatest expertise was……..the ability to  always make anyone in his presence …..feel welcomed & special. What a gift, that will be so missed.

Just this morning, I happened to take out my house keys and stopped to pay attention to an extra key I've had with them since the 80s.   This particular key bears a quotation from Revelation 3: 8:  "I have placed before you an open door." 

 Instantly, it brought to mind a kind, and courteous insurance agent who was in our home to help a young couple who'd recently purchased their first home  make wise decisions about insurance coverage, not only for our new home, but our vehicles, our very lives.  He noticed this little key on my key chain and, with a smile, pulled out an identical one of his own.  We trusted Neil Gunter for our insurance needs until the day he retired, from that moment on.  

Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.  We celebrate with you this truly fine man.

Was so saddened to hear about the sudden loss of one of my best friends departure. God isn’t making too many Neil Gunter’s these days. Neil knew he was blessed by The Lord to have A great wife and great kids. He was one of kindest and most thoughtful man I ever knew. A man of faith and strong Christian values he will be so missed. Jason and family, 
As you know, Jason, your dad was my insurance agent for several years and I loved stopping in the office for a chat with him.  Then I was blessed to work with you in HR.  Your cheerful spirit reminded me of him often.  
My heartfelt love and sympathy as he goes on to his well deserved place in heaven.  May God comfort you and yours at this sad time.

I had the pleasure of knowing Neil-and getting to see him every Sunday in Sunday School class.  He always had something to say-lol This past Sunday was no different, he walked over to me and told me that I reminded him so much of his daughter and I said bless her heart.  He gave me that short laugh and smile.  I will always treasure that last time he talked to me.  Sunday School will never be the same, Neil always had a comment to add to Bruce's lesson in one way or another, that will never be the same.  Neil was a wonderful person and I will miss him greatly!!!  Much love to you Hennie and prayers for you and the family during this time.
