She was born on May 12, 1933 to the late Homer and Sallie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Poe, second husband, Jimmy Bettis and daughter, Debbie Buffington.
Betty was a member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church.
She retired from bookkeeping after 21 years at Southern Centrifugal. Betty loved to travel and go on cruises with Debbie and Mildred.
Survivors include her sister, Mildred Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, stepson, Franklin (Vicki) Poe of Rock Spring, Georgia, grandson, Rodney (Venice) Poe of East Ridge, Tennessee, granddaughter, Denice (Glen) Funderburck of Chattanooga, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Ernie Reno officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
