Doris Dean Grinstead, 82, of Chatom, passed away December 21, 2017 at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born July 22, 1935 to Simmie and Lillie Reynolds. She lived her life with great compassion. She will be dearly missed by all the lives she touched. She had owned and operated a restaurant in Chatom for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy “Fred” Grinstead and daughter, Pamela J. McDaniel. She is survived by her children, Michael A. Grinstead and wife, Annette, Sonja D. Davis; grandchildren, Bryan J. Carpenter, Brandy N. Pollard, Tara L. Matlock, Misty M. Joye; 10 great-grandchildren and sisters, Margaret Harvison and Diane Reynolds. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Reynolds Holiness Church in Chatom with Rev. Bill Dortch and Lathan Funeral Home officiating.
