Rogette was born in Ossining, NY and raised in Larchmont, NY with her three older sisters, Catherine (Kay), Joan, Marguerite and her parents Roger and Augusta (Catherine). She worked in the advertising industry where she met and later married Justin. They eventually moved from New York City to Greenwich, CT. Justin was an advertising executive who passed away in 1983.
After Justin’s death, Gigi transitioned from her role as a volunteer at Greenwich Hospital, to a full-time position as the hospital’s Audio-Visual Coordinator, producing educational videos for closed circuit television.
Gigi and her life partner, John Payson, became residents of West Chatham in 1997. She enriched the town’s spiritual life at Holy Redeemer Church. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the church’s choir as well as the Mid Cape Chorus. She was active in numerous town organizations and served on the Chatham Library Board. She loved her family, her friends and had an unwavering faith in God.
Gigi is survived by Ted (Lisa), Sean (Vivian) and Claudia; grandchildren Katie, Constance, Paul Michael, Justin, SJ and Connor; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
Gigi lived life as she wanted, fiercely independent in a beautiful home that had breathtaking sunsets — she took time to watch every one.
She treated each day as a gift.
