She was born in Needham Ma. on July 18th 1942 to the late Charles and Ethel Marginot. Nancy was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1960 and attended Barry University in Miami Fl. Before transferring to and graduating from Regis College in Weston Ma.
Nancy met and married her eternal love, the late George Thomas Jones III of Medford Ma. and located to Cohasset Ma., where she began her family raising 3 sons.
Nancy worked most of her life as an entrepreneur assisting George in founding Eastern Sling and Supply, a company which still endures today. In her time in business, she oversaw the production of products used in large scale civil construction that helped build and shape the future of the communities in Massachusetts which they served.
Nancy was an avid scuba diver, swimmer, boater and all around lover of the coastal environment that she knew as home. She was very close to her friend Figero, an orange cat, on whom she bestowed her quizzical personality.
Mostly Nancy will be remembered as a woman who overcame everything. Citing her childhood mentor the late Father Dennis Scannell as the inspiration for having the spirit that she could and would accomplish anything that she wished to. Nancy led a life with minimal use of her legs, and limited use of her arms, due to having contracted Polio at the age of four.
Nancy was blessed to have been able to live a full and independent life due to the gracious and generous support of her community. Her neighbors Harding's Shores, the incredibly talented home caregivers who gave so much, and the kindness of the public servants of Chatham who all so effortlessly offered their services in the case of even the smallest event. It was due to all of you that Nancy was able to feel secure in her independence, comforted that she was surrounded with such loving and gifted friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her Sister Mary, her 3 sons Thomas, Ted, and Dennis, her 3 daughters-in-law Karen, Shirley and Denise, 6 grand daughters, Samantha, Alexandra, Maya, Rebecca, Danielle and Rachel and her grandson Dylan.
Her unfiltered opinions, all spoken in good faith and with complete lack of malice, will be sorely missed.
A wake will be held at 3pm - 6pm at Nickerson Funeral Home 87 Crowell Rd. Chatham Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday morning at 10am at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church at 57 Highland Ave. in Chatham.
