Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Heineman in 2001.
She was born Karen Quinn in Orleans, MA on February 8, 1949, the daughter of Ellis B. and Isabelle S. (Luce) Quinn. Karen grew up in Orleans and attended Orleans Elementary School and Nauset Regional High School where she graduated in 1967. Karen grew up with 2 sisters, Paula and Patricia, and together had a fun-filled life in Orleans spending summers on Nauset Beach, sleeping in a beach buggy and just plain having fun with a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen went on to work for Eastern Airlines in New York, New Jersey, and then in Florida where she met her husband, Richard. Richard and Karen had a wonderful life living in Florida, Connecticut, Switzerland and then Georgia. After she worked for Eastern Airlines, she went on to work for World Class Travel in Connecticut and then Georgia. Karen was a Girl Scout leader while in Connecticut with teenage girls who adored her. She was a fun and caring leader who loved her girls. Karen, Richard, and their son Rich were able to live in Switzerland for 3 years while Richard did a job for IBM.
Karen had such a fun and outgoing personality that she was loved by so many family and friends everywhere she went.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Jennifer Heineman, Jr. and by her granddaughters, Sara and Ashleigh, all of Bonney Lake, WA. She is also survived by her sister Paula (Quinn) and her husband, Ross Ringheim of Chatham, MA and by her sister Patricia Quinn of Mashpee, MA, along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be no service at this time. The family will be having a private gathering at a later date to remember and reminisce about Karen’s life.
