Born in Barnstable in 1958 and raised in Chatham, she was a true cape codder. She was the daughter of Joseph and Priscilla Rushnak. She graduated from Chatham High in 1976. She ran her own catering company, fueled by her passion for cooking and her spicy drive for life, for 20 plus years. She touched so many people’s hearts, always having a positive impact on their lives. Her smile and laugh were contagious and memorable. She loved living on “Island Time” and Jimmy Buffet songs, always making sure to live life to the fullest. Always putting others first, she would do anything for anyone with no questions asked.
She was the incredible wife of Arthur P. Allen III for 35 amazing, fun, fresh years, the sister of Darryl Scott Rushnak and Julie Rushnak. As well as an amazing, devoted, one of a kind Mama Dukes to Lindsey Allen, Katelyn Allen and so many adopted others.
As per Jody’s wishes, there will be no funeral or wake, only a celebration of her life. The celebration will be held on Saturday, October 15th at one thirty in the afternoon at Brax Landing in Harwichport.
Donations may be made to the Cancer Society or by living plants to her immediate family members. She wished her garden to be as full of life as she was.
