He was the devoted husband to Norma (Fenerty) Lynch, loving father to son Steven (and wife Joanna) of Salt Lake City UT, daughter Sandra Melberg (and husband Carl) of Littleton MA, and dedicated “Papa” to his two grandsons Alexander and Jonathan Melberg.
Born in Salem MA on May 18, 1929, Donald was raised in Beverly, MA. After serving our country in WW2, he earned his dental degree from Tufts University and enjoyed his dental practice in North Reading until his retirement in 1998.
Boating was his passion. In his retirement he became an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Chatham and Sarasota, FL. Don also enjoyed travel, reading, and spending time with family and friends enjoying a very active life. He will be remembered with a smile for his many adventures on land and sea, his easy laugh and caring way.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 57 Highland Ave, Chatham, MA 02633 on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00am. Burial will be private.
