Donald S. Horne

Donald Sisson Horne of Harwich, formerly of Chatham MA, passed away at his home on April 12th, 2022 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of the late Lucille Horne of 74 years and son of the late Robert and Mary (Sisson) Horne, brother of the late Charles, John and Roberta. He leaves behind his three sons Donald, William and Kenneth. Cherished grandfather to Derek, Jennifer, Meredith and Andrew, and great grandfather to Ava, Rhys and Ryleigh.

Donald was born in Melrose, MA and moved to Chatham as a small child. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He spent most of his years at Horne’s Marina and summer cottages in Chatham. He was always keeping busy with boats, home projects, his fish pond in the backyard and his train table in the basement. He also loved spending time at his cottage “Duffy’s Tavern” (named after one of his beloved dogs) in New Hampshire. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Visiting hours to be held at Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham on April 18th from 5-7pm.
