Charlotte M. Forgeron, 95 of Chatham MA passed away on March 15, 2014 at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Brewster. Born on September 17, 1918 in Chatham to the late Nelson P. and Estelle M. Forgeron. Charlotte attended Chatham public schools and graduated from Chatham High in 1936. She continued her studies at Hyannis State Teachers College, graduating in 1940 and then obtained her Master’s degree from Boston University.
Charlotte taught elementary school in Chatham, Fairhaven and Newtonville, MA. She became Principal of two elementary schools in Newtonville, MA. Upon her retirement, she moved back to Chatham, MA. Back in Chatham the school committee talked her into coming out of retirement to teach at the Chatham Elementary School. She eventually became the Principal of the Chatham Elementary School, and retired for the second time in 1980. Charlotte was taken to Paris by her nieces for her 80th birthday.
Charlotte was member of the Board of Trustees at the Eldredge Public Library, Chatham, Chatham Village Association, Chatham Historical Society and a parishioner of Holy Redeemer Church. She was the Chairman of the Committee that planned the remodeling of the Eldredge Public Library. The library honored her by dedicating a room in her name.
Her funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, Highland Ave,
