Throughout his youth, Charlie attended Camp O-At-Ka in Sebago, Maine. He became a camp counselor, swim instructor and from what we were told, a bit of a practical joker. After graduation, Charlie took a job with the telephone company and worked in the many iterations of the phone company, until he retired in 1999. He started his career in Quincy, MA and while there, was set up on a blind date with Shirley; ten months later he married Shirley, his wife of 62 years. Throughout his career, Charlie was transferred to Burlington, VT, then back to Massachusetts, where he and his family settled in Franklin, MA for over 30 years, retiring in Chatham, MA. Charlie was very active in his communities. When his boys were young he was a Cub Scout Master with the Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Masons for over 60 years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and an active member in his local church.
