Alice M. Durant

After graduating high school Alice attended the Teachers College in the city of Boston, and Bridgewater State College. She was an elementary school teacher and taught in Boston, Dedham, and Yarmouth. She retired in 1972 and moved to Chatham from W. Yarmouth in 1974.

Alice is survived by her nephew Donald McGuirk of Long Island, NY, her cousin Dorothy Tucker of Centerville, and her cousin June Stevens of New York. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Durant, her daughter, Anne Durant and her three brothers, George McGuirk, Leo McGuirk, and William McGuirk.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, from 4PM to 7PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd., Chatham. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11AM at Holy Redeemer Parish, 57 Highland Rd., Chatham. Burial will follow at Seaside Cemetery.
