William "Bruce" Etter

He was born in Litchfield on July 10, 1948, the son of Roy and Catherine (Roach) Etter. Bruce married Christine Linker on September 27, 1969, in Dearborn Heights, MI. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2021.

Bruce graduated from Raymond Lincolnwood High School in 1966 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he met his bride, Christine. He went on to work at Sangamo Electric and eventually Dickey-John as an Information Systems Director. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his spare time, he enjoyed time with his friends, played poker, travelled, and loved visiting Las Vegas with Christine. Bruce cherished his family and loved to attend or follow his granddaughter’s soccer and volleyball games.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Bruce is survived by his son, Rob (Gina) Etter; and grandchildren, Sydney and Hayden Etter.

Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rte. 4, Chatham, until the time of the Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
