Paul Behl, Jr., unexpectedly passed away on September 16, 2024. Lovingly known as Poco to family and close friends, he was born to Paul E. Sr. and Marilyn Bennett Behl on December 27, 1976, in Springfield, IL.
He graduated from Eureka High School and attended Eureka College. He left Eureka College to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps as an electrical linesman. He completed the American Linebuilders Apprenticeship Training (ALBAT) program. Paul worked as a journeyman linesman from coast to coast. He obtained an Associate in Science degree from Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. He later became an instructor at the Electrical Lineworker program at Mesa University, Grand Junction, CO. Most recently, he worked as a distribution operations supervisor for Duke Energy in Bloomington, IN.
Paul was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents.
He is survived by his children, Jonathan of Bloomington, IN, and Peyton and Bennett of Fruita, CO; mother, Marilyn of Springfield, IL; brother, Jeffrey (Emily) and their children, Kenny, Molly, Max, and Tucker; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Paul will be forever held precious in the hearts of many living on through the memories they shared with him. He was truly a kind and selfless soul who left this world far too soon. He was a blessing to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Visitation and Funeral Service: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham, IL, until the time of the Service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association.
