IN THE CARE OF
Teague Funeral Service
William “Billy” Shifflett, age 67, known by his buddies as Hoghead, from Earlysville, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Born April 22, 1948 he was the son of Geneivie Shifflett of White Hall and the late Jessie Shifflett. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Kevin and Tanya and her three children; and grandchildren, Preston and Burgundy – of whom he loved and was very proud of. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Linda Zirkle and Debbie Raines; one brother-in-law, Roger Gibson; his niece, Lisa; and his nephew, Craig. He was a good mechanic all of his life and he loved fast cars, hunting, and camping. He also loved four-wheeling in the mud. He served in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. Billy suffered in pain a long time from back problems in the last ten years. He is now pain free and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. He had such a strong personality and will never be forgotten. We will always remember the great times and the teasing everyone endured. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Mount Moriah Church in Whitehall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Billy’s name should be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 www.hopva.org. Condolences may be offered to the family at teaguefuneralhome.com
