William Robert Dawson Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1935 to Everett and Goldie Dawson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Edgar Dawson and sister; Edrene Dawson Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Sylvia Marshall Dawson, sons; William R. Dawson Jr. (Tanya) and Virgil L. Dawson, and daughter; Cynthia P. Dawson.
Billy began his career as an auto mechanic in the U S Army in 1953 and later spent over 30 years employed at Harry A. Wright's in Charlottesville. Throughout his life, Billy enjoyed drag racing and Nascar. He was also an avid Redskins fan.
Always a dedicated provider for his family, Billy will be remembered as quiet, reserved and hardworking and will be missed dearly.
